I got a new bank account today! (Never mind the fact that they got my name wrong and I have to go back in tomorrow to get that fixed, and that this is the second time they’ve gotten my name wrong in some way.) So, I linked my book sales and my PayPal to said account, so everything’s all fine and dandy – the money is going to the same place.
I have two accounts now: checking (the one I opened today; it has all the cash I had on hand up until today) and savings (which has an obscene amount of money which I can’t actually touch because that’s going to college funds). All money from commissions (PayPal) or my books (CreateSpace) will go to checking (the money I can actually use on hand), in addition to the money I get from my job.
Ah, yes, I should have mentioned earlier: I’m working now! I got a job at Pinkberry (the yogurt place) and as soon as I can get my work permit in, I officially start working at minimum wage. c:
I still emphasize that I am taking commissions and other various requests as much as ever.
And now, I have a strange question for those of you who actually follow my blog (I estimate this number to be approximately 1):
How would I go about selling these things on eBay?
My family has a whole storage closet of things we want to get rid of, and my dad says that if I can sell them on eBay, I’ll get a cut of the profits (except for things I owned to begin with, in which I’ll get all of them). However, I have a completely nonexistent rating on eBay since this is my first sale so people may not trust me…
In addition some of these items are at rather bizarre sizes and weights. For instance, one of them is a Dance Dance Revolution metal pad. Yeah. I don’t have the original box, and while I can probably take the length measurements, idk how on earth I’d weigh it. And if I have to ship it…I’m not sure how I take care of this, but how do I estimate shipping? Do I just haul the thing into the post office and ask for an estimate? (Ugh…)
Any help would be appreciated. Since I lost a lot of money paying for repairs in 2009 and 2011, and until now I never had a job or an allowance or the ability to buy things I really wanted for myself, money’s kind of an important thing, haha…
